Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you enter a name or case number into a search tool displayed here, the query is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and returns any result under its own system. Wexford County Court Docket does not store or log those search terms as its own court-record database.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we retain the message and its contact details as needed to respond and manage the correspondence. We do not disclose a message outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers and service providers can receive routine technical details when a page loads:
- The IP address associated with the device
- Browser type and version
- Device and operating-system information
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, if one was supplied
- Date and time records for page visits
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They can help measure aggregate site use, such as which pages receive visits and where a session ends. Browser controls can block cookies, though some functions may then work differently. Analytics providers process traffic information under their own terms.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used for ordinary site operations and communication:
- Keeping pages available and improving load performance
- Routing a submitted search to its designated service
- Measuring aggregate traffic and page use
- Diagnosing technical faults and security issues
- Serving advertising that may be based on activity or interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Wexford County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general information about the Wexford County Clerk, 28th Circuit Court, 84th District Court, Probate Court, and MiCOURT Case Search. Official Wexford case files remain with their court custodians. Michigan Court Rule 8.119 governs inspection and reproduction of court case records, while MCR 1.109(D)(9)-(10) addresses protected personal identifying information and redaction.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes shown on this site are operated by outside providers. Information entered into those tools is handled under the provider's privacy policy, not this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, sharing, and security practices. Review that provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Wexford court or clerk pages, MiCOURT, Michigan court-rule material, or third-party search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's policy controls its handling of information. Read that policy before submitting personal details to the destination.
Advertising providers may collect information across websites for their own advertising functions. That activity occurs under their systems and policies.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be disclosed to the following limited categories where applicable:
- Search providers that process a query submitted through their tool
- Analytics services used to measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on the site
- Law enforcement or government authorities responding to a valid legal requirement
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we handle. No internet-connected service can guarantee complete security, and no system can promise that an unauthorized event will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information to us, contact us so the matter can be reviewed and handled appropriately.
Your Data Rights
Depending on your location, privacy or consumer-protection law may provide rights concerning personal information held by a private website. Michigan court-record access is separately governed by MCR 8.119, and protected court-file information is addressed by MCR 1.109(D)(9)-(10). At a minimum, you may ask about personal information we hold about you:
- Request a copy of applicable information
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Ask whether deletion is available
- Ask about choices concerning particular processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as practices or services change. A revised policy becomes effective when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
